Wheels make the world go ‘round and the tires that surround the wheels of your car are ever more important. I think it’s so funny when you see a spy movie and the protagonist kicks the tires of the vehicle he’s about to get into and says to his partner “this car’s rigged!” then they jump off to battle the bad guys and win the damsel in distress. While that may be something of a gross over simplification of the matter, there’s a little nugget of truth in every story and it’s true that tires tell the tale of the car when it’s at a standstill. Tires carry us everywhere we go; we think it’s the suspension, we think it’s the engine, we think it’s the hot paint job or killer stereo system, but in reality it’s the tires that do all the traveling around.

Though the truth of the matter may be that you are a lot more likely to get a good deal on a set of tires by going down to a tire shop and settling up the deal with a handshake with the owner. Many of the tire retailers don’t have time for online and would rather be able to look you up and down and get you as a customer. Many times people who are selling tires or some such will put an ad out online; but they don’t last long! So you need to be observant. Most people who are selling tires are either retailers or smart people; handymen who are disembodying a no longer running car.
