Often times it is very difficult to find quality wallpaper for your desktop. Typing in free wallpaper into a Yahoo or Google search engine will certainly connect you will free desktop wallpaper – or at least websites that claim to have free wallpapers. However, you may discover that these free images are actually more like cheap wallpaper, since there is a recurring membership fee. Some surfers may even type in a phrase like walpapers, (as in I am searching for free walpapers) hoping that misspelling the phrase will yield more usable results.

Searching Through Google
Typing in the phrase walpapers through Google brings back 585,000 results. First of all, Google corrects you like a snarky online English teacher wondering if you were searching for wallpaper instead. Sponsored links pop up to the side suggesting that FunUtilities.com has 1000's of walpapers to choose from. Other listed sites include Wallpaperama.com, which seems to be a legitimate source of free walpapers, as they promise no pop ups, no SPAM or anything to install for their images. Wallpapers.theotaku.com features Anime wallpapers that are free and available in three different resolutions. Downloadjunction.com also appeared on the top five rankings though it offered software programs with wallpaper, or multiple images, not individual backgrounds.

Wallpapers Cheap
Searching for wallpapers cheap gives you back well over a million results, including various categories of wallpaper like home wallpaper from CheapAmericanWallpaper.com and wallpaper wholesaler, as well as digital wallpaper for your cell phone from FlyCell.com. Other cheap or free wallpaper download sites include best-wallpapers.com, wallpaperbase.com, wallpapervault.com, wallpapers.com, and digitalblasphemy.com. Three free sites that are of particular interest are grsites.com, which allows surfers to create their own wallpaper from colorful images as well as customize button or borders, MySpace and cyberium.net/imagine, which features surreal and anthropomorphic wallpaper that is free to use as personal wallpaper. DeviantArt.com is another excellent site for impressionistic wallpaper.

Wallpaperbase.com is good site for celebrity wallpaper, and offers you images of all your favorite celebrities. You can digitally hang up classic poses from your favorite singers like Madonna, Britney Spears, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, or your favorite movie stars like Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Orlando Bloom, Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey and of course, your favorite sex idol, Charlie Chaplin. (Hmm?)

You can also take images for your own personal use by simply loading up a full image on your screen and maximum resolution and right clicking your mouse for the “save as desktop option.” Most artists don't mind if you use their work for desktop wallpaper, but have limits if you use their images for public use, such as a website.
